Alejandro Rubio joined the Spanish Legal Service (Abogacía del Estado) in 2005 as head of the Legal Service in Ciudad Real. In 2008 he moved to the Legal Service before the National High Court, where his practice covered areas such as taxation, national defence, public utilities and regulation, energy, telecommunications and data protection. From 2011 to 2016 he served at the Legal Service before the ECJ, where he represented the Kingdom of Spain as agent. In november 2016 he was appointed Technical General Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Industry. In july 2018 he resumed his job at the Legal Service before the European Court of Justice and in october 2019, he moved to the Legal Service before the National High Court. He is Director of Legal Affairs of Navantia since February 2021.
